Ex-‘American idol’ contestant gets 25 years for child porn

A onetime American Idol contestant who briefly shot to fame after Katy Perry kissed him on the show has now been sentenced to 25 years for stockpiling child sexual abuse material.

Benjamin Glaze, who was 19 when Perry gave him his first kiss during his 2018 audition, was convicted last week in Tulsa, Oklahoma, after police found more than 700 illegal files on his phone.

He had admitted to a counselor that he was addicted to child porn, leading to his arrest.

Under the sentence, Glaze must serve at least 15 years behind bars, with the final 10 suspended, but release comes with strict conditions.

Court records reveal he will be subjected to unusual tests, including a penile plethysmograph to measure arousal and an Abel Screening to track eye movements on sexual images.

Other restrictions bar him from strip clubs, sex shops, adult theaters, pornography, and even picking up hitchhikers.

He must also register as a sex offender, undergo regular STD tests, and comply with strict clothing rules.

Glaze, now 27, first drew headlines in 2018 when Perry kissed him during his audition, after he confessed he had never kissed a girl.

Though the moment went viral, the judges declined to send him to Hollywood.
