EOCO Seizes Luxury Vehicles from Residence of Ex-Buffer Stock CEO & Wife

The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has taken away several vehicles from the residence of the former Chief Executive Officer of the National Food Buffer Stock Company (NAFCO), Abdul Wahab Hanan Aludiba, in Tamale, a source has told MyNewsGh.com.

The vehicles were transported to EOCO’s holding in Accra as part of an ongoing investigation into alleged financial and procurement irregularities during his tenure.

The move forms part of EOCO’s efforts to secure assets connected to the former CEO, who is currently under investigation for suspected economic crimes. Mr. Hannan was arrested on June 25, 2025, following simultaneous operations in Accra and Tamale. His wife was also picked up during the operation but later released on bail.

His wife was said to have been escorted by EOCO officials to the couple’s Tamale home where the vehicles were taken into the custody of EOCO.

Mr. Hannan was detained for nearly two weeks at EOCO cells in Accra while efforts to meet his bail conditions continued. He was eventually released on July 8 after meeting a bail condition set at over GH¢60 million. His wife had earlier been granted bail in the sum of GH¢30 million.

The towing of the vehicles, which occurred quietly in past weeks is said to be part of asset preservation measures while EOCO deepens its probe into financial activities at the state-owned food security agency. It remains unclear how many vehicles were involved and whether any other properties are being targeted. Officials failed to share details of the luxury vehicles seized.

The case of Mr. Hana has attracted considerable political attention, with members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) accusing EOCO of applying harsh and unfair bail conditions to deliberately prolong his detention.

Protesters, including NPP MPs and party youth, staged demonstrations outside EOCO’s premises earlier this month to demand his release.

EOCO, however, has insisted that due process is being followed and that its actions are grounded in law and public interest.

Since his release from detention, the former CEO has not publicly commented on the allegations. He and his wife have stayed off social media since their ordeal.
