Even If my journey ends today, I’ll go with peace—Adom FM Journalist on attacks over election coverage

Broadcast journalist with the Multimedia Group, Akwasi Nsiah has broken his silence following alleged threats to his life and career, stemming from his work covering Ghana’s political landscape—particularly the volatile Ablekuma North parliamentary re-run.
Nsiah revealed that he had received reports of planned attacks targeting him had he gone to Ablekuma North to cover the elections.
“My attention has been drawn to reports that some individuals had planned to attack me if I had gone to Ablekuma North to cover the election re-run,” he wrote on Facebook.
He also disclosed that he had been informed of efforts to pressure the CEO of the Multimedia Group, Mr. Kwesi Twum, to remove him from all broadcasting roles.
“I have also been informed about plans by certain persons to pressure the CEO of the Multimedia Group, Mr. Kwesi Twum, to take me off TV and radio.
“Frankly, I don’t know what crime I have committed to deserve such treatment. But I believe that with God on our side, we shall prevail.”
Nsiah described the situation as part of a pattern, revealing this isn’t the first time his life has been threatened.
“This is not the first time, there was a recent threat on my life, which has since been reported to the Police,” he added.
The seasoned journalist, known for his fearless commentary and sharp political analysis, emphasized his professional track record.
“Let it be on record that, in my over 18 years of practicing journalism, I have never been sued or cautioned by the Police in the line of duty. That should speak volumes about the integrity and professionalism with which I do my work.”
In a sobering conclusion, Nsiah reflected on the sacrifices and risks of his profession, stating:
“Even if my journey ends today, I will go with peace in my heart, knowing that I served my country faithfully and fearlessly as a journalist. May God be with us and make our nation great and strong.”
