Every day is a bonus at 76, I’m just grateful to be healthy

As he approaches his 76th birthday on November 19, distinguished businessman and philanthropist Sir Sam Jonah says life at this stage feels both humbling and deeply reflective.
“I feel a lot older,” he admitted with a warm laugh during an interview on Starr Chat monitored by MyNewsGh. “You were given 70 years, so every day is a bonus.”
Jonah shared that his bubbly presence and energy didn’t come by accident. Rather, he has cultivated a lifestyle rooted in discipline, movement and inner peace.
“You must develop the capacity to let things go,” he advised younger listeners. “Don’t surround yourself with negativity, it’s not productive.”
His commitment to wellness is unmistakable. He plays golf up to six times a week, and when he’s not on the course, he hits the pavement.
“I do seven kilometers a day,” he revealed. “Discipline is absolutely essential if you want to make success of anything.”
To Jonah, true wealth has little to do with bank balances.
“What’s the sense if you have the money and you’re not healthy?” he asked. “If you’re healthy, you have the opportunity to go and make it.”
