Exceptional work – IGP commends police medical team during GRNMA strike

The Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno, on April 13, 2025, visited the Police Hospital in Accra to commend staff for their swift response during the nationwide nurses’ strike.
The hospital saw a 300% spike in patient numbers, according to Medical Director COP Dr. Otu Nyarko, who noted that all doctors on leave were recalled to manage the pressure.

The IGP praised the team for their dedication, urged them to keep up the good work, and assured them of continued support.
He also highlighted the timely commissioning of the Kumasi Police Hospital as a major boost to healthcare delivery during the crisis.
