Fake Goldbod taskforce ‘officers’ busted in Tarkwa for extortion and impersonation

The Western Central Regional Police Command has cautioned the public to demand proper identification from anyone claiming to represent government agencies, following the arrest of two individuals posing as Ghana Gold Board Taskforce officials.
The suspects, 40-year-old Foster Delord and 38-year-old Prince Worvi, were picked up after multiple complaints indicated they had been extorting money from unsuspecting gold dealers in the region under the guise of official Taskforce duties.
According to police, the duo—who claimed to be former military officers—were arrested with incriminating items including a pair of handcuffs, pepper spray, an electric shock device, a uniform, and GHS 500 cash believed to be proceeds from their illegal activities.
They were swiftly arraigned before the Tarkwa Circuit Court and have since been remanded into police custody while investigations continue.
