False testimonies are ruining faith – Sofo Condemn blows alarm

Sofo Condemn has raised alarm over what he describes as a disturbing trend of staged testimonies in Ghanaian churches.
The outspoken man of God claimed that some pastors actively collaborate with church members to fabricate miracle stories in a bid to deceive congregants and attract more followers.
“Some pastors plan testimonies with members just to convince others that miracles are happening. It’s all fake,” he declared, making no attempt to soften his words in an appearance on Asetena Pa with Akoto Mansa monitored by MyNewsGH.
Sofo Condemn explained that testimonies, which are supposed to glorify God and strengthen faith, have increasingly become tools for manipulation.
According to him, these staged narratives are carefully crafted to give the impression that the church is a place of instant transformation, healing, or financial breakthrough—even when that is far from reality.
“They know that people are desperate and in pain,” he said. “So they use fake testimonies to make them believe that their problems will disappear if they just stay, give more, or believe harder. It’s dangerous.”
He lamented the emotional and financial toll this deception takes on vulnerable congregants, especially the poor and struggling who may cling to these claims as their only hope.
“You’ll see a woman testifying about a healing that never happened, or a man talking about sudden riches that don’t exist—all because the pastor told them what to say,” he explained.
