Family announces one-week observation of highlife legend Daddy Lumba

The family of the late Charles Kwadwo Fosuh, popularly known in the music world as Daddy Lumba, has announced the one-week observation of the legendary highlife musician.
The event is scheduled for Saturday, August 30, 2025, at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium (Legon Sports Stadium), starting at 7 a.m.
Daddy Lumba, celebrated as one of Ghana’s greatest and most influential musicians, passed away on July 26, 2025, at the age of 60.
His death was meant with great shock, with tributes pouring in from fellow musicians, fans, politicians, and music lovers worldwide.
Known for timeless classics such as Aben Wo Ha, Theresa, and Yentie Obiaa, Lumba’s contribution to Ghana’s music industry spanned decades, shaping the highlife genre and inspiring generations of artists.
In a statement accompanying the announcement, the family expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support and invited the public to join them in honoring the life and legacy of the music icon.
“The Family of the late Charles Kwadwo Fosuh humbly and respectfully invite you and your family to the one-week observation of the Legendary Charles Kwadwo Fosuh (Daddy Lumba),” the notice read.
