Abronye faces party probe for defamatory remarks and allegations

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has taken disciplinary action against its Bono Regional Chairman, Kwame Baffoe, widely known as Abronye DC, referring him to the National Disciplinary Committee over alleged misconduct.
The party accused Abronye of conduct “detrimental to the image, unity, and integrity of the organisation,” in a petition filed by General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong.
The allegations include making defamatory remarks about Kennedy Agyapong, claiming “even the elephant has more wisdom than Hon. Agyapong.”
He is also accused of spreading false claims that the General Secretary concealed a report recommending Mr. Agyapong’s expulsion, and of misrepresenting the findings of a disciplinary committee, breaching confidentiality in the process.
The party has called for a thorough and impartial inquiry, stressing that accountability is “non-negotiable” in protecting its unity and credibility.
“The leadership remains committed to fairness, discipline, and the protection of the Party’s democratic values,” Mr. Kodua emphasized.
