A leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Gabby Otchere-Darko has called for calm within the political party.
He holds the view that the internal contest must be that of ideas and not attacks on each other because the party will need everyone on board to recapture power in 2028.
“Keep it clean. Whoever wins this battle will need the whole family to win the war. Fix to recapture. Don’t destroy to rebuild,” he said in a post shared via social media.”

His comment comes on the back of exchanges between supporters of the various persons who have decided to contest for the flagbearerhip of the political party.
Currently two people have openly declared their intention to contest for the flagbearership of the political party.
Bryan Acheampong and Kennedy Agyapong are hoping to be given the nod to lead the political party back to power.
Kennedy Agyapong has in recent times urged the party to look at its history and drop Dr Mahamudu Bawumia who led the political party to its worst defeat in the 2024 elections leaving the party with a paltry 88 seats in Parliament.
