Four arrested over Aflao mobile money vendor’s murder

Four individuals have been picked up by the police in Aflao in connection with the recent murder of a mobile money vendor in the Volta Region.

The suspects, arrested last Saturday, May 10, are believed to have played a role in the deadly robbery that rocked the border town just over two weeks ago.

According to the Volta Regional Police Public Affairs Unit, the suspects are currently in custody and assisting with investigations. The unit’s head, DSP Felix Danku, gave the update in Ho on Tuesday, May 13.

Recounting the incident, he said that on the evening of April 28, at around 6:15 pm, a group of five unidentified armed men attacked Christopher Ahordo, a mobile money vendor, at Gbagblakope—near the Diamond Cement factory.

The assailants shot and killed him on the spot before fleeing with a bag believed to have contained cash.

DSP Danku noted that efforts are ongoing to bring all those involved to justice. The four suspects are expected to be processed for court.

He further advised the public to remain alert and report any suspicious activity in their communities, stressing the importance of community support in the fight against crime.
