Franklin Cudjoe expresses disappointment in Mahama’s fight against galamsey

President of policy think tank IMANI Africa, Franklin Cudjoe, has expressed his disappointment in the National Democratic Congress government in their fight against illegal mining in Ghana.
He says they have started singing the same song the previous government sang in dealing with the menace.
Franklin Cudjoe explains that the NDC government will be held to a higher standard of accountability in the fight against galamsey, as they have been provided with all the resources.
Making this position known in a post shared via social media, he said the country is not looking at fancy names among others, but just the fight against the menace destroying water bodies and forest reserves in the country.
His post read “It seems as though the NDC has started singing the same lullaby in dealing with galamsy as the NPP did when it should be rocking discordant and noisy music to chase galamsayers away. Please NDC you will be held to a higher standard of accountability because this year’s budget gifted you GHC 50m to fight the menace, when the NPP received GHC 10m last year. We do not want to hear fancy names like Blue Water marines or Red Sea toads. Just deal with Galamsay! Wonim RED”.
