Attorney-General Dr. Dominic Ayine has justified the government’s decision to drop charges against former Finance Minister Dr. Kwabena Duffuor and seven others.
At a sectoral briefing on Monday, July 28, he explained that the move followed a structured GH¢2 billion repayment proposal by the accused, intended to cover part of their revised GH¢3.3 billion obligations.
Dr. Ayine said the decision was influenced by legal complexities and a strategic shift toward asset recovery.
