GFA President Kurt Okraku secures seat on CAF Executive Committee

Ghana Football Association (GFA) President, Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, has been elected to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Executive Committee, securing a four-year term from 2025 to 2029.

Running unopposed, Okraku’s inclusion in the 24-member decision-making body strengthens Ghana’s influence in African football. His leadership in domestic football development and international collaborations has positioned him as a key figure in shaping the sport’s future on the continent.

Expressing gratitude after his election, Okraku described the victory as one for Ghanaian football, pledging to work towards a stronger and more competitive African game.

His new role is expected to bring increased opportunities and advocacy for Ghana at the continental level.

Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku is a Ghanaian football administrator and the current President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA).

He was elected as GFA President in October 2019 and re-elected in October 2023 for a second term.

Under his leadership, he has focused on revamping domestic football, improving youth development, and strengthening international partnerships to enhance Ghana’s football ecosystem.

Before becoming GFA President, he was the Executive Chairman of Dreams FC, a Ghana Premier League club known for developing young talents.

He has also held various roles in sports administration, including working with the MTN FA Cup Committee and serving as a member of CAF’s Marketing and TV Rights Committee.
