GGSA must generate its own revenue – Armah-Kofi Buah

The Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Hon. Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, has called for an urgent transformation of the Ghana Geological Survey Authority (GGSA), urging the institution to shift from relying on government funding to becoming a commercially viable and self-sustaining body.
During his maiden visit to the GGSA since taking office, the Minister expressed concern over the Authority’s continued financial dependence despite its critical role in Ghana’s natural resource development.
“There is no reason why an organization as important as GGSA should be struggling for government funds. The services you provide must translate into revenue here. Your work is essential, and I am committed to working with you to change the current situation,” he said.
The Minister emphasized the need for collective responsibility among staff and leadership to align with government’s reset agenda for the GGSA.
“Everyone here must work to ensure that the government’s reset agenda for the GGSA is achieved. If we all perform our responsibilities, we will be on the same page,” he added.
