Ghana is all we have

Alexander Afenyo-Markin has urged university students to rise above partisanship and see themselves as future custodians of Ghana’s democracy.

Speaking at the University of Media, Arts and Communication (UniMAC) during the Political Strategy Lab, a platform where level 400 Political Marketing students presented strategies for the NPP and NDC, the Effutu MP said the next generation must approach governance with a sense of responsibility.

“Both of you, we don’t need politics again. We are taking over,” Afenyo-Markin told the students.

“We should be careful so that we give confidence to the people. And with that, I’m sure they would aspire to be part of the governance of the country.”

He commended the initiative as a valuable exercise in preparing young people to contribute meaningfully to Ghana’s political and civic life.

“Ghana is all we have as students. It’s good you’ve taken this up and you invited us to share our perspectives with you. It’s a great academic exercise,” he said.

The Minority Leader expressed gratitude for the opportunity to share his thoughts and encouraged the students to remain committed to national development beyond classroom discussions.

“I want to thank you for the gracious opportunity granted me to share my thoughts with you. I wish you well. God bless you and may long live this university,” he added.

His remarks drew applause from the gathering, with Afenyo-Markin acknowledging the enthusiasm of the students.

“Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful,” he said as the session wrapped up.
