Ghana is proud of Nana Konadu’s achievements

President John Dramani Mahama says the nation is proud of the remarkable legacy left behind by Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, especially her impact on women and children across Ghana.
Sharing his thoughts after visiting the Rawlings family with his wife, Lordina, he said, “Ghana is proud of her achievements as First Lady and mother of the nation. While we all mourn her passing, we celebrate her life.”
He expressed how unsettling it felt that her death occurred at a time the country was preparing to honour former President Jerry John Rawlings.
“It has been unsettling that you passed away just as we were preparing to mark the fifth anniversary and conduct funeral rites for our former President, Jerry John Rawlings.”
Highlighting her nationwide influence, President Mahama stated; “As the founder and President of the 31st December Women’s Movement, evidence of her achievements and the impact on the masses, particularly women and children, is abundant across the country.”
He emphasised that the entire country owes her a deep sense of gratitude for her contributions to national progress and social development.
“May her soul rest in peace,” he concluded.
