Ghanaians deserve honesty on galamsey challenges

Former Member of Parliament for Adentan, Kojo Adu Asare, has called on the government to be transparent with Ghanaians regarding the ongoing fight against illegal mining, popularly known as galamsey.
Adu Asare expressed disappointment over the lack of visible progress nearly a year into the administration during an interview on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen.
“It is a bit difficult and disappointing that nine months into a new government, we’re still singing the same song.
“It doesn’t look good,” he said, reflecting widespread frustration among citizens who had hoped for swift action.
Adu Asare also urged the government to communicate clearly when faced with difficulties in implementing policies.
“I believe we must say what we mean and mean what we say.
“If we said certain things, but on coming in we are finding execution challenging, we should quickly step in and let Ghanaians understand that this is our new position,” he added.
