Ghanasco and Tamasco tease each other as Ghanasco celebrates 65th anniversary

The rivalry between Tamale Senior High School (Tamasco) and Ghana Senior High School (Ghanasco), two of the top schools in the Northern Region, has reached new heights following the climax of Ghanasco’s 65th anniversary celebrations on Saturday, November 22, 2025. Products of both schools have taken to social media to say why their school is better than the other, teasing each other.
Ghanasco, using President John Mahama, a product of the school, offered to teach Tamasco how to produce a President. A jab that the school has yet to produce a President.
But some products of Tamasco quickly disputed the claim, noting accurately that the late former President Hilla Limann was a product of Tamasco who had become President of Ghana’s Third Republic, long before President John Mahama first became President.
But even before that, Tamasco highlighted a major problem plaguing Ghanasco: inadequate water supply. They sought to teach Ghanasco how to get potable water.
Both schools have achieved remarkable success, having produced some of Ghana’s most prominent people and achieving plaudits in other areas such as sports.
The healthy rivalry between the schools, which began decades ago is sure to continue as long as they exist.
