GJA elections committee warns members to ignore fake voter list circulating online

The Elections Committee of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) has issued a strong warning to members to disregard a fake voters’ list circulating on social media ahead of the National and Regional Elections scheduled for Monday, June 30, 2025.

In a press release dated Sunday, June 29, the Committee described the list as a “mischievous fabrication” and urged all members to rely only on the official voters’ register, which has been duly signed by the GJA General Secretary and Treasurer.

“We urge all members to ignore this mischievous fabrication and rely solely on the official voters’ register,” the statement emphasized.

To avoid confusion, members were advised to verify any concerns directly with the official GJA website or the Elections Committee.

Additionally, the Committee revealed that the Ghana Police Service will be on standby across all voting centers to ensure peace and order.

“Any individual or group that attempts to cause confusion will be promptly escorted out of the premises,” the statement warned.
