GMet forecasts thunderstorms across parts of Ghana this evening

The Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet) has issued a 24-hour weather forecast, warning of possible thunderstorms or rain across several parts of the country later today.

According to the agency, most areas will experience partly cloudy conditions this morning, with mist likely to form over the mountainous and forest zones. As the day progresses, sunny spells with occasional cloudiness are expected nationwide.

However, from late afternoon into the evening hours, thunderstorms or rain are likely to affect parts of the coastal, middle, transition, and northern belts.

Cities such as Takoradi, Ho, Koforidua, Kumasi, Sunyani, Tamale, and Yendi are among those with a 30–60% chance of rain or thunderstorms.

Temperature forecasts indicate that the hottest areas will be in the northern sector, with Damongo and Nalerigu expected to hit highs of 37°C and 38°C, respectively. In the southern sector, Accra and Cape Coast are expected to reach a maximum of 33°C.

GMet advises the public, especially those in areas prone to flooding or strong winds, to take precautions and stay updated on weather alerts.
