GMet predicts cloudy start, sunny afternoons, and localized evening rains across Ghana

The Ghana Meteorological Agency has issued a 24-hour weather forecast valid from 6 a.m. today, predicting mostly cloudy conditions in the morning across the country with mist or fog patches expected over coastal, forest, and mountainous areas.
Isolated rain showers may occur in some coastal and inland areas during the early hours. By afternoon, southern Ghana will experience mostly cloudy skies with intervals of sunshine, while northern Ghana is expected to be generally hot and sunny.
From late afternoon into the evening, localized thunderstorms or rain are forecast to affect parts of the coastal, middle, and transition zones.
Temperature readings across key locations are as follows:
- Accra: Morning rain (30%) with temperatures ranging from 25°C in the morning to 33°C in the afternoon; cloudy skies expected in the evening at around 26°C.
- Kumasi: Mostly cloudy morning with some sunshine in the afternoon; temperatures between 24°C and 34°C.
- Takoradi: Morning rain chances of 30%, with thunderstorms possible in the afternoon; temperatures between 26°C and 31°C.
- Aflao: Morning rain likelihood of 30%, with sunny intervals later; temperatures ranging from 22°C to 28°C.
The sea state is reported as rough, and residents along the coast are advised to exercise caution.
The forecast highlights the variable weather conditions expected throughout the day, combining moisture in the early hours and potential afternoon and evening thunderstorms, especially in southern and central parts of the country.
