Gov’t promotes Think 360 Vision as new cadets join prisons service

Vice President Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang says the newly launched Think 360 Degrees Prisons Initiative will anchor Ghana’s efforts to build a modern and development-oriented correctional system.
Addressing Officer Cadet Intake 32 at their commissioning parade, she described the initiative as central to the President’s reset agenda.
“The Service launched the Think 360 Degrees Prisons Initiative, which recognises that true correctional reform must combine humanitarian and developmental objectives,” she said, noting that the programme prioritises both officer and inmate welfare.
She explained that the initiative also focuses on agricultural mechanisation, vocational and industrial programmes, and the repositioning of facilities as contributors to economic growth.
“The goal is to create sustainable jobs, generate revenue, and ensure inmates are reintegrated into society,” she added. She encouraged the public to support the Service’s fundraising efforts, observing that “every contribution can significantly transform lives.”
The Vice President commended leadership within the Service, praising the Director-General for “exemplary leadership and professionalism” and acknowledging the Prisons Regimental Band for their performance. She urged the graduating cadets to uphold the highest standards as they join the senior corps, charging them “to serve with integrity, discipline, and hard work.”
She formally declared the new officers commissioned, congratulating outstanding graduates and the entire Intake 32 for successfully completing their training.
