Grief in Brewaniase as two sisters, aged 15 and 8, found murdered in bush

Two young sisters, Akalu Emefa, 15, and Emmanuela Dziwonu, 8, were tragically found murdered in a bush near their family farm in Brewaniase, located in the Nkwanta South Municipality of the Oti Region.

The horrific incident took place on Sunday, April 20, after their mother, Madam Akpalu Mawusi, had sent them to the farm to carry out some tasks.

Upon their return, the sisters’ bodies were discovered by authorities, who swiftly transported them to the Municipal Morgue.

The Nkwanta Police have launched a full investigation into the gruesome murders, and Crime Officer Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Lawrence Wiafi assured the public that every effort would be made to ensure the perpetrators are brought to justice.

The tragic deaths have sent shockwaves through the local community, with residents expressing deep sorrow and anger.

Many have called for greater security measures to protect children, fearing this devastating crime could happen again.

The community’s chiefs and elders have also pledged their support for the investigation and are demanding swift and decisive action.
