Guru apologises to Okyeame Kwame and says ‘Kasiebo’ was never meant to offend him

Ghanaian rapper Guru has extended an open apology to Okyeame Kwame over long-standing perceptions that his hit song Kasiebo released in 2009, targeted the renowned musician. Speaking in a recent interview on Kumasi-based Angel FM monitored by MyNewsGh.com, Guru clarified that the song was never intended as an attack on Okyeame Kwame and expressed regret if it caused him any pain.

“I respect Okyeame Kwame so much. He is so big, and I have never insulted him,” Guru stated. “I wrote the Kasiebo song in a trotro, and later the Obrafour came on board with their edits. If the final version hurt him in any way, then I am sincerely sorry.”

He further explained that the creative spark behind the song was influenced by Stonebwoy, who contributed energy and inspiration in the studio. “Stonebwoy gave me the vibe to do it,” he said, crediting him for helping shape the final product.

Guru also listed Okyeame Kwame in his top 10 rappers, describing him as one of Ghana’s most skilled musicians.
