Repeating this same NPP leadership a sure way to relive the tragedy of 2024

Former General Secretary of the People’s National Convention (PNC), Atik Mohammed, has questioned the competence of the leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He is of the view that if anyone in the current leadership is maintained ahead of the 2028 elections, the party will come back to where it is to count its losses.
His comment comes on the back of the political party’s inability to pay its workers barely four months after leaving office as a government.
To Atik Mohammed, many of the leaders of the political party lack the charisma, drive, and sincerity to lead the party.
What’s even more worrying to him is the fact that these leaders were conspicuously missing in the run-up to the election 2024 when they were supposed to be the face of the political party.
In a Facebook post, Atik Mohammed said, “National Executives of the NPP, through their GS claim the party is struggling to pay its staff of less than 50 workers four months into opposition. And would have to resort to soliciting from likely Flagbearer contenders to ostensibly keep the administration of the party afloat.
Something is definitely amiss, especially when these individuals as a group, were conspicuously missing in the efforts of their party’s Flagbearer in the last election. Many of them who ordinarily should be the face of their party, lack charisma, drive and sincerity. The Chief Scribe for instance, is yet to be seen in any meaningful policy or other debate with his counterpart or people of similar standing from other major political parties. Repeating these folks in the NPP’s next internal contest is a sure way to reliving the tragedy of 2024. We listen, we watch and we judge”.
