Health committee pushes for COA mixture on NHIS

The Parliamentary Select Committee on Health has proposed the inclusion of COA Mixture in the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) as early as possible.
This follows recommendations from the Centre for Scientific Research into Plant Medicine (CSRPM), which has endorsed COA Mixture for immune support and treatment of certain COVID-19 symptoms.
“Why shouldn’t we have COA products on the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) so that Ghanaians can afford them?”
The Member of Parliament (MP) for the Mfantseman Constituency, Dr. Prince Arhin, who was part of the Committee under the Ministry of Health, made this statement during a recent visit to the COA Research and Manufacturing Company Limited at Wusorkrom in the Abura Asebu Kwamankese District of the Central Region.
“Not long ago, we had this COVID-19, and everybody — including some government officials — was chasing after COA products.
As a Parliamentary Select Committee under the Ministry of Health, we are ready to partner with COA Research and Manufacturing Company and work very hard to improve healthcare delivery in the country,” he disclosed.
The Parliamentary Committee on Health, led by the Chairman and MP for Nabdam Constituency, Dr. Mark Kurt Nawaane, visited the facility to assess the condition of the area.

He therefore assured the COA Company of the Committee’s readiness to partner with and support them in expanding production to further sustain and develop the country’s economy.
On his part, the Founder of COA, Prof. Samuel Ato Duncan, welcomed the Committee and described their visit as historic.
He expressed strong belief that the Parliamentary Committee would work through the government to establish a partnership with COA.
He said COA Limited was ready to partner with government and aimed to become the first research and manufacturing institution in Ghana to produce a vaccine.
“For me, I thought since we are resetting Ghana, we can get something from what I have been able to do so that Ghana can benefit from COA products,” he added.
According to him, “COA products are going to bring a lot of job opportunities to many Ghanaians because we need 10,000 acres of land to grow raw materials for sustainability, which will employ over 500 youth in the country.”
Prof. Duncan said that although a lot of money had been invested in the products, there had not been a single source of support over the past 20 years since the establishment of COA.
“It’s so painful when it comes to what you can do for your country and you don’t have any support,” he averred.
Prof. Ato Duncan explained that COA Mixture is now globally recognised for the treatment of several ailments, and he believes that collaboration with the Parliamentary Select Committee would help COA breakthrough to save humanity.
