How Ghanaian community in New York welcomed Mahama

President John Dramani Mahama has touched down in New York, accompanied by First Lady Mrs. Lordina Mahama, to take part in the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly.

Their arrival was warmly welcomed by a vibrant crowd of Ghanaians living in the United States, who turned up to show their support.

While in New York, President Mahama will devote his engagements to critical global issues, including peace and security, the advancement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), climate action, and regional economic integration.

These areas, according to the Presidency, underscore Ghana’s commitment to multilateralism and the pursuit of collective solutions to today’s pressing challenges.

The highlight of his visit will come on Thursday, September 25, 2025, when he addresses the General Assembly.

His speech is expected to outline Ghana’s perspectives on international developments and reaffirm the nation’s role as a constructive partner in the global push for peace, sustainable progress, and economic cooperation.
