How Manhyia put pressure on the system to get Adom-Otchere out of detention

Broadcast journalist Paul Adom-Otchere has disclosed the role the Manhyia Palace played in his release from detention.
Paul Adom-Otchere was detained by the Office of the Special Prosecutor after he failed to meet his bail conditions.
The journalist, who is a former board chairman of the Ghana Airport Company, had to spend the night in detention until he was released on Friday, August 1, 2025.
Speaking after he was released in a video shared on the Good Morning Ghana platform, Paul indicated that several calls came in from diverse quarters to ensure that he was bailed on Friday, August 1, 2025.
Among the influential names mentioned was that of Manhyia in the Ashanti Region.
He indicated that the high authorities at the palace placed several calls to different quarters that influenced his release from detention.
Paul intends to go to Manhyia for a proper thank you.
Explaining the role of Manhyia in his release, Paul said, “To the Chiefs, Gykye, Ejisu Manhene and the senior officials of Manhyia palace who put pressure on the system. Insisting that please release Paul Adom-Otchere, I cannot thank you enough. I am coming to Kumasi and I will do it properly. I will thank you all. Adenta Kumi I know you are in Mahyia palace and I believe you were a part of this. Even though you are a young man I know you told your bosses to call the authorities”.
