I’ve evolved through the pain – Michy on becoming her true self

Shatta Michy has shared a deeply introspective view of her personal growth, describing her journey as one of authenticity, healing, and rediscovery.

Reflecting on her evolution, Michy dismissed the idea that she has simply “turned a new leaf,” explaining instead that she is now living in alignment with her true self.

“Knowing myself more, I don’t think it’s a new leaf per se. I’m living my authentic self right now. This is who I am and supposed to be as a person,” she said during a recent forum.

“Sometimes life decides to break us to rebuild us, and that is what life has done to me. It’s rebuilt me to become who I’m actually meant to be, mentally, spiritually, physically.”

Michy revealed that self-awareness and introspection have been at the core of her transformation.

“I’ve been forced to take out time to know myself, to learn about my weaknesses, my strengths, and work with those. Instead of dwelling on the pain, I’m working with the pain. I’m not focusing too much on what broke me; I’m focused on how strong the breaking made me,” she said.

For the “Hustle” hitmaker, solitude has played a key role in her emotional recovery and personal evolution. “I think it differs with everybody.

“I’m naturally a loner. I know that sounds weird. I know a lot of people, but I’m a loner — a social antisocial person. So solitude works for me,” she noted.

Despite her preference for solitude, Michy acknowledged that her support system , particularly her family and close friends, has helped her stay grounded through life’s challenges.

“My mom, my son, my biggest support group, and the true friends that I have always remind me that your story is very valid. Whichever chapter you’ve gotten to, your story is still very valid,” she added.
