I commend the wisdom of the NPP to go for early primaries—Kpemka

Former Deputy Attorney General Joseph Dindiok Kpemka has commended the New Patriotic Party’s leadership for the decision to go for early primaries.
He explains that apart from other indicators that affected the party in the 2024 elections, the late presidential primaries also played a key role in the party’s defeat.
To Kpenka, the party did not have enough time for reconciliation after the primaries ahead of the 2024 election.
However, an early primary will mean that the party will have enough time to reconcile and bring everyone on board for victory in the 2028 elections.
“When there is a contest of ideas, you will hear all sorts of things, but after the elections, steps will be taken. I want to commend the wisdom of my party for going for early primaries. The reason is that if there is anything that affected us apart from the indicators I spoke about, it was our late presidential primary.
After the presidential primary, there was no time to go and do reconciliation, and you know that there are naturally quick-tempered people who get angry easily and are very difficult to control. If you do presidential primaries three clear years before elections, you have the opportunity to mend the walls,” he said.
