I got sick for two days — Cynthia Morrison recounts emotional moment over politician she admired

Former Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Cynthia Mamle Morrison, grew emotional as she recounted how deeply affected she was after hearing news about a political figure she admired.

“I got sick for two days because the first news I had was… and he’s my Pan-African friend, and I was like, he’s the only person who calls me, you know.

“I screamed. Then they said… and I said even worse,” she revealed, describing how certain personal bonds transcend partisan lines.

Morrison went on to speak about her admiration for other respected politicians she has never personally met but holds in high regard.

“The other one was the name I never met him but I respect him. I’ve never met him. Not like this. I’ve never met him but I respect him so, so, so much. I respect him so much.

“Anytime he doesn’t speak much. We hardly hear his voice. I respect him so much,” she said in an interview on Starr FM monitored by MyNewsGh.

She further reflected on how political affiliations should never destroy human connections. “Politics — there are people who are NDC.

“They are not my friends. Even in NPP, there are people who are not my friends. But it should not divide us. We should debate, you know. We can debate on issues but it shouldn’t be like…” she emphasized.
