I never met my dad, I only saw his obituary poster

Aide to former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Dennis Miracles Aboagye, has shared an emotional and deeply personal chapter of his life — growing up without ever knowing his biological father.

Speaking on The Upside Down Show on Channel One TV, Aboagye revealed that he only discovered his father had died last year — and it was through his obituary.

“I never met my dad. I don’t know what happened, but at some point in my life, I had to ask,” he said, recounting his early childhood.

“The environment in which I grew up, everybody was a child’s parent. But I think at a point, I remember asking.”

According to him, the man who fathered him never took responsibility. His mother, he said, bore the full weight of raising him.

“It only happened that the man who is supposed to be my father did not take responsibility when I was born. So, she single-handedly took up my growing,” he shared.

In a moment that stunned him, Aboagye revealed that it wasn’t until late 2023 that he found out his father had passed away.

“It was about last year in August or September that I met his obituary poster,” he said.
