I stand with Bawumia – Sammi Awuku declares support

Former National Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Sammi Awuku, has urged party faithful to conduct a civil and issues-based campaign as the party gears up for internal contests ahead of the 2028 elections.
In a message sighted by MyNewsGh, Awuku reaffirmed his support for Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, noting that the road ahead may be tough but victory is assured if the party remains united and respectful.
“As the New Patriotic Party (NPP: Development in Freedom), an offshoot of the Danquah-Dombo-Busia tradition, enters a critical phase in its quest to recapture power in 2028, may the gentle souls of our forbears—Danquah, Dombo and Busia—provide useful guidance and inspiration from the spirit world to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as he makes a case to the NPP delegates and its rank and file from tomorrow,” he said.
Awuku stressed the importance of a campaign free from insults and acrimony, warning that bitterness within the party could undermine its chances in the next general elections.
“The journey won’t be easy, but I am confident it shall end in praise. Let the campaign be civil and decent.
“Let’s extol the values and virtues of our preferred candidate and let the campaign be devoid of acrimony, antagonism and insults for the sake of the NPP’s future,” he added.
The former Youth Organizer concluded with a prayer for divine guidance, stating: “May the NPP God guide us all to victory in 2028. For this and many more I pray. I stand with Bawumia.”
Awuku’s statement is seen as a rallying call to strengthen party cohesion as Dr. Bawumia begins his bid to consolidate support within the NPP for the battles ahead.
