I still don’t know why I was suspended from the NPP—Kwabena Agyepong

Former General Secretary for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, has stated that after several years of his suspension from the party, he has still not been told why he was suspended.
According to him, all he was told was that he had taken a unilateral decision that he would be communicated to later, but that never happened.
Kwabena Agyepong, who was speaking in an interview, said he was loved by the party folks then, and therefore, the people behind his suspension had to frame stories to make him look bad in the sight of the supporters.
“You have to ask them. What they were saying about my suspension was just propaganda. They knew the party folks liked me… They said I had taken a unilateral decision. My letter did not contain any reason for my suspension. They said they would communicate with me, but they never reached out to me till today. Party folks knew I had served in the party, so they voted massively for me in the party. Those who know me know I’ve got deep roots in the party, so they had to destroy my reputation by framing up stories that will denigrate me,” he said.
Kwabena Agyei Agyepong explained that he does not want to mention the names of those who orchestrated his suspension because he has always been for peace and unity in the political party.
Kwabena Agyapong, former general secretary of the NPP, faced suspension in 2015 alongside the party’s former national chairman, Paul Afoko, and former national vice chairman, Sammy Crabbe, for alleged misconduct.
Agyapong was found guilty of violating Article 3(d) of the party’s constitution, which mandates members to uphold the party’s decisions.
He was also accused of engaging in “unilateral actions and activities without consultation with or seeking authorization from the NEC.”
