I want to be everything, maybe even president

Kwame Asare Obeng, widely known as A Plus, opened up in an honest interview on Channel One TV which was monitored by MyNewsGh, reflecting on his political journey, his ambitions, and the experiences that shaped his views.

“I entered politics to show people that if I want to, I can be here,” A Plus boldly declared, recounting the moment he announced his candidacy. “I wanted to prove that you shouldn’t waste time debating what others can’t achieve, focus on what you can achieve,” he added with passion.

A Plus touched on his time with the NPP, sharing that while he originally admired Nana Akufo-Addo and supported his bid for president, his outspoken nature led to some conflicts.

“They gave me a job, but when they realized I wasn’t someone who would keep quiet, they pulled back,” A Plus explained. “I’m not the kind to be reserved. If I’m hired, I’ll express myself.”

Despite his strained relationship with the NPP, A Plus emphasized that he wasn’t harboring any ill will. “I don’t inherit enemies,” he asserted.

“I still believe in the leadership of the NPP and have good relationships with many people in the party.”

Asked about his future in politics, A Plus hinted at his broader ambitions, stating, “I want to be everything. Maybe even president one day, who knows?” But when it comes to his current political career, A Plus is clear: “I’m happy where I am for now, and I’ll leave the rest to God.”

When asked if he ever wanted a ministerial position, A Plus was adamant, “I will never be a minister. I want to live my life freely, be myself, and enjoy my time with my friends.

Being a minister comes with too many constraints.” Instead, he emphasized his desire for a flexible, fulfilling life without the constraints of political office.
