I won’t be silenced – Ransford Gyampo fires back at critics

Political science professor and outspoken CEO of the Ghana Shippers’ Authority, Ransford Gyampo, has issued a strong rebuttal to what he describes as “baseless allegations” circulating on radio and social media.
In a public statement titled “Responding to Baseless Allegations Against Me,” Prof. Gyampo addressed claims that he had personally recruited 28 women and two men into the organisation—accusations he flatly denied.
“I have not recruited 28 women and two men as being alleged. I am not in charge of recruitment at my workplace,” he clarified. “Recruitment over the years, I am told, has been done professionally by a private outsourced agency that follows a rigorous selection process.”
He also addressed criticism about his travel engagements, noting that his movements have been limited and entirely above board.
“Part of my work requires that I travel, and out of the over 38 opportunities, I have only honoured four—with the expressed approval and permission from the Chief of Staff,” he stated.
Responding to concerns about travel expenses, Gyampo emphasized his modest use of public funds.
“I have never travelled on First Class or Business class. I remain the only CEO in Ghana who travels on ECONOMY TICKET,” he stressed, offering his boarding passes as proof.
The former University of Ghana lecturer, who has long been a critic of both past and present governments, implied that the attacks were politically motivated.
“These aren’t new. They are part of a known grand scheme against me because of my vociferousness against bad governance in the previous regime,” he added.
He also revealed that legal action is underway against those spreading the falsehoods.
“My lawyers and other lawyers I don’t even know have taken over the matter and would deal with the individuals behind the baseless allegations this week,” he confirmed.
Prof. Gyampo concluded his statement by thanking his supporters and reaffirming his commitment to speaking truth to power.
“Baseless allegations have never been enough to silence me. I would remain myself and would always speak my mind on every national issue while focusing on my core job of championing the interest of shippers forcefully and proactively.”
He also reassured the public of his integrity:
“I assure all that I know the public confidence in me and I won’t do anything to betray the trust reposed in me.”
