If this gov’t doesn’t focus, they will lose all the goodwill Ghanaians gave them — Okoe Boye

Dr. Bernard Okoe has cautioned the National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration against wasting its limited mandate on political vendettas.

Speaking during the NPP’s protest in Accra on Tuesday, Okoe Boye argued that the government had already lost nearly a year of its tenure without delivering on its promises.

“Effectively, this government has just 36 months because the final year is an election year. Almost 11 months are gone, and instead of addressing the pressing concerns of the people, they are busy arresting politicians,” the former Health Minister said.

According to him, the NDC administration risks losing the very goodwill that secured them victory in the 2024 elections if they fail to shift focus back to development.

“When power was given to us, we spent our energy creating jobs through initiatives like One District One Factory. That is the kind of work Ghanaians expect from a government, not actions that incite fear or merely excite their base,” he noted.

Okoe Boye urged President John Dramani Mahama to redirect the attention of his appointees toward policies that improve the lives of ordinary citizens, warning that time was fast running out.
