IGP giving Mahama’s gov’t a bad name—Barker Vormawor

Activist Oliver Barker-Vormawor has cautioned the Inspector General of Police against using the state apparatus to fight his personal battles.

According to him, if he’s hurt by Abronye’s insults, he should rather sue the Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party.

He believes that the recent actions by the police give the government a bad name and should not be encouraged.

Making this position known in a social media post, he sai,d “From what I have gathered so far, the Government does not support the prosecution of Abronye, or think it to be necessary at this stage.

If the IGP thinks Abronye’s comments are defamatory, he should go to court, like every citizen.

Using the police to settle personal insults, and now creating ridiculous visual imagery as if he is some war criminal or Hannibal Lecter is causing unnecessary attention and dis-affection for the Government.

End it! Someone needs to bring the IGP and his boys to order.

Shalom”.

Meanwhile, the Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC, has reportedly been remanded for seven days.

The maverick politician was arrested on Monday, September 8, by the Ghana Police Service for what authorities described as “offensive conduct conducive to the breach of public peace.”

Since then, he has remained in custody as prosecutors prepare their case.

On Friday, an Accra Circuit Court explained that the remand would give investigators adequate time to dig deeper into the matter.

The court further directed that Abronye be brought back before it on September 26, 2025.
