I’ll do it again – Cynthia Morrison says she has no regrets leaving NPP

Former Member of Parliament for Agona West, Cynthia Mamle Morrison, has opened up about her exit from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) before the 2024 polls, maintaining that every action she took during her tenure was done in the interest of her constituents.

Speaking in an interview on Starr FM, the former NPP lawmaker recalled a moment during an event when a sudden gunshot disrupted the celebration shortly after she left NPP.

“Who alerted me that it was a gunshot, so we should turn? And I was like, I was in the heat of dancing and everything,” she recounted with a laugh.

“The Independence was beautiful. It was nice. We really had a nice time. Oh, I had fun. I had so much fun.”

When asked about her current political network and party connections, Morrison responded that her team remains diverse.

Despite losing her parliamentary seat, the former MP appeared confident about her enduring influence in the constituency.

“We love you. We want to vote for you. They tell me so, I know.

“They tell me. My parents come and tell me,” she said, referring to the support she continues to receive from residents.

Touching on her controversial decision to leave the NPP, Morrison was unapologetic; “I did it for my people and I’m happy, and I’ll do it again if he does,” she stressed.
