President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, has assured the people of Ghana of his determination to fight galamsey.
According to him, he needs the support of the Ghanaian people as efforts are undertaken to fight the menace which has destroyed the environment.
The President made this known after he met with Civil Society Organisations on Friday, October 3, 2025, at the Jubilee House in Accra.
He said in a social post that “I’m determined to end galamsey, but I need the support of every Ghanaian”.
The President urged the Civil Society Organizations to continue asking questions and holding the government accountable.
“To the CSOs & activists, keep the pressure on. Hold us accountable. Your advocacy is welcome. We won’t hand poisoned rivers & destroyed forests to our children”.
