I’m not old; I’ll contest 2028 elections—Isaac Adongo

Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga Central, Isaac Adongo is not ruling out contesting for the seat in the 2028 elections.
According to him, he is still young and will want to contest the seat after impacting the lives of the people he represents.
He cited his colleagues, Dr Dominic Ayine, Mahama Ayariga, and Haruna Iddrisu, who have been in Parliament for a long time, to back his decision to contest in the 2028 elections.
He noted that there are claims of not making an impact as a Member of Parliament but was quick to indicate that he is making an impact, but does not do things for the cameras, hence claims that he is not impactful.
“It is something I do on a daily basis, except that I do not go with cameramen. My politics is such that I place human dignity first and above anything. So if a small child is not privileged enough to come from a family that is not able to take care of that child, and I come in to support that child, I cannot take cameramen to go and take that child. It is not in my DNA,” he said.
He indicated that the people of Bolgatanga will begin to see the fruits of his three terms in office very soon and that will influence their decision to keep him in Parliament and not go in for a new person who has to come and restart life.
“I have a job for four years. If I deliver it well, that seat is in my hands. If I don’t deliver it, I can’t blame anybody,” he stated.
Adding that “In this game, the longer you stay and the more impact you make in the political circle, the better you are at supporting your people. We cannot all of a sudden take three steps and take one step back to go and start all the way”.
