I’m sorry – Yaw Darling renders apology to Patapaa

Ghanaian singer and 2025 TGMA Unsung Artiste of the Year, Yaw Darling, has rendered an unqualified apology to Patapaa for making an analogy with his name.

This comes after Yaw Darling said in an interview that he prefers to be compared to Kuami Eugene, who’s a singer, but not Patapaa.

Clarifying his statement in an interview with Amansan Krakye, the ‘TGIF’ hitmaker said he didn’t mean to disrespect or tarnish Patapaa’s brand.

He remarked, “We make mistakes when speaking and I’m growing, so I keep learning and let me use this opportunity to apologise to Patapaa for what I said.

“I’m very sorry, and I was even saying that I’ll make a video and apologise to my senior man because he opened the gates for us to follow in the Central Region.

“There is no way that I will say something deliberately to hurt or disrespect someone because I’m now coming and when you hurt someone you need to apologise.

“I don’t know if my message will get to Patapaa personally but I’m very sorry and I didn’t intend to troll him with the Kuami Eugene analogy,” he added as observed by MyNewsGh.com

He continued “It just came up and I’ve regretted the statement so I didn’t mean to say anything bad to disrespect Patapaa”.
