Interior Minister urges moderation and compassion in Eid celebrations

Interior Minister Muntaka Mohammed Mubarak has urged Muslims in Ghana and around the world to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr in moderation while extending support to those in need.
In a heartfelt message shared on social media, he emphasized the importance of upholding the values of Islam, including peace, unity, and charity.
“Let’s celebrate in moderation and be mindful of those who are less fortunate. Islam teaches us peace and unity, so let us uphold these values by supporting our neighbors, regardless of their religious beliefs. Let’s also avoid activities that could disturb public peace or lead to violence,” he advised.
His message comes at a time when economic challenges have made it difficult for many families to partake fully in the festivities.
By calling for restraint, the minister highlighted the essence of Eid beyond feasting and celebrations, stressing the significance of showing kindness and generosity to those who may be struggling.
As Muslims mark the end of Ramadan, a period of fasting and spiritual reflection, Muntaka Mohammed Mubarak reminded the public of the need for prayers and gratitude.
“It is my prayer that Allah grants us good health, wisdom, and understanding so we can work hard and be truthful in our endeavors. May we be blessed with many more Eid celebrations in the years to come,” he said.
