Island and Space are not random names

Ghanaian rapper Medikal says his decision to give his children unconventional names is intentional and rooted in meaning.
Speaking to Andy Dosty on Joy Prime, the rapper said the name of his newborn son, Space, was chosen to inspire limitless thinking.
According to him, “I want a child to grow into an infinite world, you know? That’s why I named the child Space.”
He rejected the suggestion that his choices, from Island to Space, were merely for attention. Medikal stated that names should reflect possibilities, not societal expectations.
When Andy joked that “Space” could create hilarious moments in future relationships, Medikal laughed it off but insisted the choice was serious and symbolic.
On whether more children are coming, he hinted that he is done for now. “I don’t think there will be a next right now. I just want to focus on Island and Space and my career.”
He emphasized his commitment to being a present father, saying, “I always want to be there for my kids. I’m not that father who just sends money. I like to spend time with my kids.”
