Award winning Nigerian singer Tiwa Savage has opened about a past relationship with a male colleague in the music industry who insisted on keeping their affair private while openly entertaining other women.
In a recent interview, Tiwa recalled the emotional toll it took on her.
“No, it’s a disrespect. I’m a public figure and he is as well. Oh my God, I hope he doesn’t,” she said, expressing regret over how things played out.
According to Tiwa, the man had convinced her to stay quiet about their relationship, claiming he didn’t want people to know.
“So he did this thing where he’s just like, I don’t want us to go public because I don’t want people to know and all that kind of stuff.
“So I’m like, okay, cool. Then it was like, okay, when we go out, I might be talking to other people, but I’m just doing it so people don’t suspect. And I was like, okay, but how far are you going with this?”
The singer explained that while she respected his wish for privacy, she began to notice behavior that left her feeling humiliated, especially during public events.
“Yeah, and we might be in the same event, and he’s working the room.
“Yeah, probably talking, rubbing, and I’m there, and he’s still looking at me like, I’m just doing it. And I can’t say nothing. I mean, you can’t. And it’s in front of me,” Tiwa revealed.
