It was time for the public to hear it from his own mouth

Temi Otedola has opened up about her father, billionaire businessman Femi Otedola, and his decision to share his life story in a new book.
The actress said she had been privileged to learn directly from her father’s wisdom but believed the time was right for the public to also gain insight into his journey.
“My dad has a wealth of wisdom and I’ve been very fortunate as his daughter that I’ve been able to, to gleam and learn all of this information growing up with him,” she said in an interview with the BBC.
“But I believe he thought it was time that the public learn and understand his journey as an entrepreneur and as a businessman.”
According to Temi, Femi Otedola wanted to clear misconceptions that often come with being a successful entrepreneur constantly in the spotlight.
“I think being a businessman in the public eye, there are a lot of misconceptions about you and about your journey.
“And he’s had articles and, you know, news clippings written about him his entire life.
“So it was really finally time for the public to hear it from his own mouth and through his own words,” she explained.
Temi added that her father was candid in the book, even discussing his decision not to pursue formal education.
“He revealed and he wasn’t shy to talk about the fact that he decided not to go to school,” she said.
