Afrobeats act OliveTheBoy says his new hairstyle is intentional and tied to a pattern he notices in his career.
Speaking on Hitz FM with Kwame Dadzie and Doreen Avio as monitored by MyNewsGh, the singer confirmed, “I’ve dropped the crown. I’ve dropped it. The color is more visible now.”
He added that reactions from fans have been mixed. “Some people, they like, some people they no like, but then it has a reason,” he explained.
According to him, every year around this time, he introduces something new related to a project.
“If you look at the years I’ve been in the industry, almost every time when it gets to the end of the year, something comes. Project-based.”
Asked whether the look was attracting attention from women, he only smiled and said, “Papa, people dey. They listen, they watch. But it’s because of something.”
He also dismissed concerns about not wearing warm clothing in the studio. “I’m good. I’m not feeling cold,” he said when asked if the air conditioner should be turned off.
