Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang begins working visits to women-led ministries

Vice President Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang has paid a working visit to the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, continuing her broader engagement with ministries as part of efforts to deepen coordination, understand operational challenges, and reaffirm support from the Presidency.

The visit forms part of a series of engagements with ministries currently led by women, following earlier visits to the Health, Education, and Gender, Children and Social Protection ministries.

During the meeting, the Vice President interacted with directors and heads of agencies under the Ministry and received a detailed briefing from the sector minister, Abla Dzifa Gomashie, on ongoing programmes and future priorities.

Reflecting on the engagement, Prof. Opoku Agyemang described the visit as both timely and necessary.

“This was a valuable visit,” she said, adding that her office remains available to assist the Ministry in delivering on its mandate.

She commended the leadership and staff for what she described as visible progress, particularly in policy review efforts and institutional collaboration.

According to the Vice President, unity across agencies will be critical as government works to expand economic opportunities through culture and tourism.

“We must promote made-in-Ghana products,” she stressed, noting that national identity and economic growth should reinforce each other.

The Vice President encouraged the Ministry to maintain strong inter-agency cooperation and assured officials of sustained presidential backing as they pursue reforms and sector growth.
