John Dramani Mahama faces the media today

The President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, will meet some invited Ghanaian media practitioners today, September 11, 2025.
This will be his first time meeting the press to provide an update on his tenure after his victory in the 2024 election and taking over the administration of the country on January 7, 2025.
The meeting is expected to take place at exactly 8 pm at the seat of government.
It is expected that media practitioners at the event will be provided the opportunity to ask questions on behalf of the Ghanaian people.
The president will also use this opportunity to brief the Ghanaian people on the state of some of his promises during the 2024 electioneering year.
Among the updates will be the government’s fight against corruption and what the current government has done in recent times to ensure that all loot is retrieved.
Also, the president is expected to provide an update on his flagship campaign promise of implementing a 24-hour economy, an initiative that has been launched and is expected to help provide jobs for the good people of Ghana.
The president is expected to also provide an update on the volatile security situation in the country, especially in his backyard in the Savannah region and Bawku in the Upper East Region, as some Ghanaians have had to seek asylum in other countries.
The fight against illegal mining is also another topical issue the president is expected to touch on.
